High-Quality Representation for Small Businesses
A June 2013 Gallup Poll found that only 10 percent of Americans surveyed had either a "great deal" or "quite a lot" of confidence in Congress, the lowest confidence rating in history. More than half of those surveyed--52 percent--had little or no confidence in Congress. According to this poll, Congress has lost the trust and confidence of many Americans.
In contrast, in the same poll, 65 percent of Americans said they had a "great deal" or "quite a lot" of confidence in small businesses, while only 7 percent of those surveyed had little or no confidence in them.
Perhaps one reason Americans trust small businesses more than Congress is that citizens have more power in their business dealings than with their elected leaders. If you do not like a local business, you can take your business elsewhere. Unlike voting for Congress, you can choose where to conduct your business on a daily basis. However, if you do not like your Congressional representation, you can only vote at election time--or move.
